About Me

About me

I love teaching French and have always maintained strong links with France. Before returning to Lancashire in 2017, I taught for 24 years in a successful Sixth Form College in Cambridge.

I enjoy encouraging language learners to aim high in order to reach their goals. Sharing my passion for French language and culture has always been a very fulfilling experience for me. I am a professional, patient, friendly teacher who believes that learning should be both rewarding and enriching.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching French for 27 years. Throughout this time, the need to keep abreast of the many changes to exam specifications allowed me to build up high level skills and knowledge to teach at all levels. I have mainly taught A level but have also enjoyed teaching many GCSE, Beginners and conversational French classes over the years.

Tutoring Approach

I am an enthusiastic teacher who prepares structured lessons thoroughly and who believes that detailed formative feedback is the key to improvement. I am able to set work to suit the ability and needs of my learners and have access to excellent learning materials. I take advantage of technology and interactive resources to motivate and inspire, keeping the pace focused and productive.

What Happy

Students say

“I am very happy with our lessons. You clearly put a lot of effort into making the time we spend together both productive and enjoyable, and your feedback on my progress is extremely useful. I look forward to becoming more fluent in French!”
